Hear from startups and enterprises taking strides to improve patient experiences using blockchain technology in the healthcare sector

CHICAGO (January 21, 2020) – With the rising prevalence of blockchain uses, there is a growing need, within legacy systems as well as startups, to understand its opportunities in every industry. Mind the Blockchain has stepped in to fill that knowledge void. They will host the first in a series of monthly forums to bring those curious about the technology’s impact and prepare attendees to lead the change. Each forum will explore a different industry and build the community’s foundational knowledge using a cross-industry approach to attain understanding.

The forum, Blockchain’s Impact on Healthcare Tech: Enterprises & Entrepreneurs, will be an evening of education and networking on Feb. 18, 2020. Its mission is to build an inclusive community of individuals and to empower those looking to “Future Proof” their careers. Mind the Blockchain is hosting this forum with leaders from MATTER, a collaborative that includes over 200 startups and dozens of hospitals and health systems; the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator, a three-month program that provides funding and mentorship to healthcare entrepreneurs; and Healthtech Women, a global organization that supports women in achieving their goals, advancing their careers and fueling innovations in healthcare.

“We need to mind the gap and yes, future proof our careers by being inclusive and staying ahead of technological changes,” says Karen Gordon, co-lead of Mind the Blockchain and founder of WE DESIGN THINK & 50 ACTION 50. “Some people think blockchain is here and now as an enabling technology. Others think it is over hyped. How can you know what is true? You can start by learning about blockchain and how it will impact your career, your industry and your ability to participate in the next wave of technological wealth creation.”

“Blockchain technology is changing the way we work and do business at a rapid rate—it’s literally disrupting the internet! If you want to create wealth from the new technology, now is the time to participate,” adds Beckie O’Connor, co-lead of Mind The Blockchain and founder & strategic creative at Convier Collective.

The forum will take place at MATTER, 222 Merchandise Mart Plaza Suite 1230, Chicago from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm on Feb. 18, 2020. Tickets for Blockchain’s Impact on Healthcare Tech: Enterprises & Entrepreneurs can be purchased at http://bit.ly/mindtheblockchain-healthcare-feb-18-2020.

Mind the Blockchain focuses on increasing blockchain knowledge and its near-term use across a variety of industry sectors. It is an inclusive and innovative community, convening public forums to be proactive – not reactive – to this change. While the ultimate timing of blockchain’s impact is yet to be determined, experts have enough data to make predictions about the technology’s impact in the near future. According to a recent ebook published by Gartner, a company that specializes in senior leadership research and business insight, “blockchain could generate as much as $3.1 trillion in new business value by 2030.” This economic impact, however, will not be contained to an isolated industry. Instead, it will be fully realized in multiple industries and will affect us all. Those who Mind the Blockchain now will be prepared to take full advantage of blockchain’s benefit.
